WTA has announced the list of players accepted to the main draw of the J&T Banka Ostrava Open tournament, which will take place from 19 October to 25 October 2020 in the Ostravar arena.

The list contains the names of four tennis players from the TOP 10 of the WTA rankings, including the currently highest ranked Czech player Karolína Plíšková.

Elina Svitolina (Ukraine), Sofia Kenin (USA) and Kiki Bertens (Netherlands), all Top 10 players, will also perform in Ostrava.

One of the stars of the tournament will undoubtedly be Victoria Azarenka from Belarus, a finalist at the recent US Open and currently the 14th player in the WTA rankings.

In addition to Karolína Plíšková, there are two other top Czech players safely in the main draw – Petra Kvitová and Markéta Vondroušová.

You can find 5 grand slam champions in the entry list. In addition to Kvitová (Wimbledon 2011 and 2014), Azarenka (Australian Open 2012 and 2013) and Kenin (Australian Open 2020), there are also Garbiňe Muguruza (French Open 2016 and Wimbledon 2017) and Angelique Kerber (Australian Open 2016, US Open 2016 and Wimbledon 2018 ).

Participation in the main tournament will be ensured by 18 players, another 24 will fight in qualification.
